Dear Lord there is so much to learn from gardening and my family and I are so fare behind. help will be ever as good as the Masons for we have been in our home as long as they have been gardening and we have not done as half as good as they have. God we need help. Lord we need country living but we are not ready.
I did winter sowing for the first in January 2024 from a RUclips video. I am new to gardening (started May 2023). So, I did winter sowing just as an experiment. It really was successful and my snapdragon did great! I will be doing a lot of my flowers with winter sowing! I love snapdragons as well! I am excited to grow this fall!!
I really like the sugar beets, and even my 11 year old granddaughter like them! Thank you for all your help and encouragement!! I still have to do my seed inventory.

Red/purple cabbage: Use exactly as you would regular cabbage!! Also, there is a crazy delicious German recipe that specifically uses red/purple cabbage, tart (like Granny Smith) apples, a little vinegar, some sugar, etc, all sautéed together in a pan. It’s a delicious side dish and super simple and quick to make. You’ll immediately think how you been missing out on that goodness all your life!!!
Far Northern California here.I plan on a fall garden.Right now still excited about my garden.Its just coming into actual fruiting .I will be hunting rabbits😊this weekend.

Hey girl, hey~! Funny story. I am the 11th child and farmer daughter. We grew up on a farm but the girls were not planting. I am just now getting into planting this season. I started with medicinal herbs but plan to do a fall deck garden with veggies so thank you for this video because there’s so much that I don’t know….thanks for sharing 💕

Hi Barbara, it’s true with the beets when you roast them! They are so good with other root vegetables roasted in the oven! They get caramelized and sweet and delicious!

Red cabbage is good in tacos and bring crunch and color to your salads. Colorful greens and veggies have more vitamins.

The colored cauliflower only remains that color if eaten raw and sometimes when roasted. Otherwise it loses its color when cooked.

Yes Ms. Barbara I will be doing a fall garden . It will be small. I moved from FL to TX. From Zone 10A to Zone 10B. I am in a apartment right now. I plan on moving to a area where I can put my container in the yard instead of the deck. I do miss my FL home, but I need to be close to my children, since I am elderly now. Peace and Blessings.

Yes I'm doing a fall garden. I've already amended a "dormant" plot & got my seeds started. This will be my first fall garden. I'm just praying that garden will do much better than my new plot. Illinois zone 6a!
Red cabbage is good in anything cabbage. I like it fresh cut added to salad, stir fry, not a fan of any slaw but I hear it's good blended w/regular cabbage, stuffed and more.

I just put my seeds in alphabetical order in those cases.
I also use a dedicated GARDEN composition binder, instead of a random piece of paper that will get lost 😊✌️

We have in the past just planted winter greens and cabbage. Since I’ve started I’m gonna incorporate other vegetables for the fall winter months.

Finding your channel has made my whole day, forgive the binge watching 😂. I love botanical interest EXCEPT the fact that all the info is on the inside. What sense does that make? So basically I feel like I have to empty the entire packet and put the seeds into something else in order to read everything.

Red cabbage is eaten or cooked just as you do green cabbage. And both can be juiced. Red cabbage nutrients and benefits are said to be a bit better than the green cabbage.

The cheddar and purple (graffiti) cauliflower taste great! I purchased my seeds from HOSS. Great germination also! Waltham and Calabrese are the best broccoli I’ve grown so far. This year I’m growing Godzilla (HOSS), Green Magic and Gypsy broccoli 🥦

I’m in zone 7 and yes I’m starting a fall/winter garden. I think I’m going to become more of a fall gardener. I will grow certain things in the summer but not many, I’m just tired of the pest pressure. Whatever I don’t grow I purchase from a local Gardner. At least that’s the direction I feel I’m headed.

They have recently discovered that the purple vegetables have a special nutrient that is supposed to be so beneficial. Sorry can't recollect the name (one of those with every letter in the alphabet in the name) Purple is also my favorite color so a win-win. Are you going to plant kale?

Hey Barbara!! I haven’t grown carrots successfully yet but I have 50 11 packets. Lol they have all these colors. I used seed tape last year. This year I have regular seeds. I might try some pelleted seeds

I have never done tulips but want to try for the first time this fall but I know nothing about them as of yet.
whats your dogs name? its killing me in the back in the beds LOL i apologize in advance for laughing but i know your pain. Have you ever thought about doing a seed exchange? because you have seeds that should be perfectly viable but admit you want more seeds. That's perfectly fine but there are people out here that would gladly love to have the seeds that as time passes you'll be less and less likely to sow. Personally I've kept brassica seeds for a decade and was still getting 80% germination rate. However i do save my own seeds so that might be the difference. Store bought may not last that long.
